    Special Announcement!

      We are pleased to announce Idaho REALTORS® new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. David Hensley. Mr. Hensley will begin his new leadership role on January 7, 2019. Mr. Hensley is coming to IR from the Office of the Governor, where he has been the Chief of Staff for Idaho Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter since 2011. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Legal Counsel to Governor Otter. His political endeavors began with former Governor Dirk Kempthorne and Governor James Risch, serving as principal legal advisor and counsel. Mr. Hensley has an extensive and reputable history in Idaho. He received his bachelor’s degree in Arts in Business Administration and Arts in History from the College of Idaho in 1998. He went on to pursue his Law Degree from the University of Idaho, graduating in 2002. He has multiple professional achievements dating back to 2002 when he was Admitted to Idaho State Bar as well as Admitted to United States District Court – District of Idaho.     Idaho REALTORS® Capital Day

    IDAHO REALTORS® CAPITAL DAY Idaho REALTORS® will host its first annual Capital Day on February 5! We hope you will join us for this special event, which gives IR members the opportunity to gain insights into the legislative process, and to meet one-on-one with IR lawmakers. Registration is FREE, but RSVP is required. AGENDA 9am – Early Risers Attend the House Revenue and Taxation Committee to see your legislators in action, working on our issues! 1pm – Capital Day Kickoff Gather in the Capital West Wing (Garden Level, Room #17) where Idaho’s Speaker of the House, Scott Bedke, and Senate Pro Tem, Brent Hill, and other colleagues will provide information about a variety of bills and activities that affect the real estate industry. 2pm – Legislative Briefing IR Government Affairs experts, Max Pond and Jeremy Pisca will brief IR members on the 2018 IR Legislative agenda. 3pm – Exploration Take time to tour the Idaho Capital building, and then explore some of the great downtown Boise offerings. 5pm – Legislative Cocktail Reception Join Idaho’s political leaders at a reception at the Grove Hotel. 6pm – Capital Day Dinner Wrap up the day with a chance to enjoy a great meal …

    REALTORS® Help Cities Plan for Walkability

    There is currently a big focus in both the private and public sectors on re-examining and re-doing existing buildings and communities. New shopping malls are not being built—but underperforming malls are being redeveloped. To meet the demand for affordable homes in existing neighborhoods, accessory dwelling units are being added into the mix of housing options. Cities are retrofitting their streets to meet growth by making them more pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly. The new neighborhood—whether a community newly constructed or an older place reimagined. With grant support from NAR, Boise Regional REALTORS® and five other REALTOR® associations partnered with their local governments to sponsor “Walkshops.” Read the article, featured in the Winter 2018 issue of On Common Ground.     NAR to Launch new Advocacy Website

    REALTORParty.Com NAR is the process of renaming, redesigning and reorganizing the REALTOR® Action Center website. The new REALTORParty.com will be a holistic website that provides advocacy materials for state and local REALTOR® Association staff, and facilitates two-way opportunities to engage individual REALTORS® and associations in the REALTOR® Party. The project goals are: •    To create a flexible website infrastructure and architecture to sustain organizational and programmatic growth over time. •    To engage members with visually compelling content, increasing our use of photos, videos and infographics. •    Provide technology that allows REALTORS® to share their advocacy-related photos and videos with NAR as well as provide additional sharable content for social media.
