  • Department of Justice Appeal Update

    Idaho REALTORS® has shared the following response from Katrina Wehr, 2024 Idaho REALTORS® President, regarding today’s announcement related to the Department of Justice appeal. This response was shared on social media earlier today. Today a federal court of appeals sided with the Department of Justice that a lower court incorrectly prohibited it from reopening an investigation of NAR and the association’s compensation policies. Katie Johnson, NAR Chief Legal Officer, released the following statement today: “As articulated by Judge Walker in his dissenting opinion, NAR believes that the government should be held to the terms of its contracts. We are reviewing today’s decision and evaluating next steps.” Idaho REALTORS® is reviewing the appellate court’s ruling, in addition to working on potential solutions under the proposed settlement in the Sitzer-Burnett litigation.
