IRIS | Idaho REALTORS® Integrity Seal Endorsement
What is IRIS?
The Idaho REALTORS® Integrity Seal (IRIS) Endorsement is a professional recognition awarded to Idaho REALTORS® who demonstrate a verified commitment to ethics, professionalism, education, and service.
IRIS shows clients and peers that you have gone beyond standard licensing requirements to uphold the highest standards of the REALTOR® profession. It is a mark of trust, credibility, and professional excellence.
The endorsement was created by the Idaho REALTORS® Leadership Academy to strengthen professionalism across Idaho and reinforce public trust in REALTORS®.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
To apply for the IRIS Endorsement, you must:
- Be a REALTOR® member in good standing
- Have been a REALTOR® for at least 2 years
- Have no ethics violations within the past 3 years
- Obtain a sponsor who is a REALTOR® in good standing with at least 5 years of experience
Required Courses for IRIS
All applicants must complete the following three required courses:
Professional Standards Training
Covers the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, professional standards procedures, and ethical responsibilities.
GRI 102 – Ethics for Real Estate Professionals
Provides advanced ethics training specific to real estate practice.
This requirement may be waived if you completed GRI 102 within the past 3 years.
Professionalism in Practice (Raising the Bar with Ethics and License Law)
This is the core IRIS course focused on professionalism, ethics, and real-world application.
Additional Requirements
In addition to the required courses, applicants must complete the following:
Community Service
- Complete at least 10 hours of community involvement
- Activities must promote and reflect positively on REALTORS®
- Examples include volunteer work, charitable service, or community outreach
Elective Education
- Complete at least 2 approved elective courses beyond normal license renewal requirements
- Examples include GRI, ABR®, SRS, CRS, AHWD®, C2EX, RENE, and others
Professional Sponsor
- Obtain a sponsor who can verify your professionalism and ethical conduct
- Sponsor must be a REALTOR® in good standing with at least 5 years of experience
How to Earn the IRIS Endorsement
Step 1: Complete Professional Standards Training
Step 2: Complete GRI 102 (if not completed within the past 3 years)
Step 3: Complete Professionalism in Practice
Step 4: Complete at least two approved elective courses
Step 5: Complete 10 hours of community service
Step 6: Obtain a qualified REALTOR® sponsor
Step 7: Submit your IRIS application
The application itself is free, though course fees may apply.
Maintaining Your IRIS Endorsement
To maintain your IRIS Endorsement, you must:
- Remain a REALTOR® in good standing
- Have no ethics violations
- Complete Professionalism in Practice each year
- Renew your endorsement annually
